One step closer to disrupting the cycle of violence against girls and young women…
On Tuesday, I had the honour of delivering a session to over 100 members of the London Violence Reduction Unit MyEnds consortium groups, sharing the work we’re doing with girls and young women at Anima Youth.
We explored our model of support and took a deeper dive into the key issues and emerging trends we’re seeing, including sexual commodification, and the importance of not overlooking girls who are vulnerable — not just those already seen as “at risk.”
Because the truth is, every girl starts with vulnerabilities, and many fall through the cracks long before the risks become visible.
Early intervention and prevention must startthere. It was genuinely refreshing to be invited to speak specifically on girls and young women, and to see a growing focus on this area.
As I slowly transition out of maternity leave (which didn’t really exist), I’m looking forward to more speaking engagements, sharing learning, and connecting with others doing this work.
If you’ve got something coming up, feel free to get in touch.
