Four Days In – The Small Moments That Show Real Progress

Four days in, and here’s a moment worth sharing…

Our young person has only been with us at our Zintarah Haven home for four days, and she’s already starting to settle in at her own pace.

This evening I was sent a really lovely photo — she chose to take the lead on cooking dinner for herself and one of our staff.

A simple moment, but a really positive one to see.

A cozy kitchen table setting with two plates of food, one with noodles and sausages and another with a smaller portion. A person in a bathrobe sits at the table, partially obscured. A smartphone is visible on the table, along with a basket of fruit and a paper towel roll.

Right from the beginning, we focus on creating a steady, consistent environment where girls can feel comfortable and start building their confidence.

And when that’s in place, you see these little signs of them finding their feet.

Trauma-responsive, therapeutically informed practice isn’t always big things — it’s moments like this, day by day.
