Zintarah Haven was created to change that…

Every young woman deserves a safe place to call home; but for too many Black girls leaving care, this is far from reality.  

Many find themselves isolated, unsupported, and at risk of exploitation or homelessness. Systemic barriers, like adultification, racial bias, and a lack of culturally relevant support, mean their needs often go unmet. 

Zintarah Haven was created as more than just a supported accommodation, it’s a pledge. The name combines our founder’s daughter’s name with a promise:

We will look after our young women as if they were our own daughters.

Specialist Care for Black Girls Leaving Care

Unlike traditional supported living, we go beyond basic accommodation. Our holistic, culturally responsive approach ensures every girl placed with us receives:

Early intervention is key. Our stable, nurturing environment reduces risks and ensures each young woman has the tools she needs to thrive beyond care.

At Zintarah Haven, we don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. Our services are designed specifically for Black girls leaving care, incorporating cultural identity, self-development, and long-term empowerment. 

Cultural Awareness & Self-Identity

- Cultural dance, language, and cooking workshops  
- Helping girls embrace their identity and build self-pride

- Exclusive dinners with inspiring Black female role models 
- Group discussions on breaking stereotypes, setting goals, and expanding ambitions

Expanding Horizons Through Sports & Travel

- Monthly access to horse riding, tennis, golf, and more
- Organised trips across the UK to encourage new perspectives

Zintarah Haven Welcome Box

Every girl receives a personalised care package upon arrival:  
- Culturally appropriate hair & body care items  
- Comfort essentials like house slippers, fresh bedding, and towels  
- Items to create a sense of belonging from day one 

All residents at Zintarah Haven receive priority access to Anima Youth’s wider support network, such as:
